List of rules and eligibility for the 2016 Toyota Toss

CONTEST SET FOR SEPTEMBER 24, 2016 AT THE
PLAY FOR YOUR FREEDOM FLAG FOOTBALL CLASSIC HALF TIME SHOW

A. CONTEST FB-P0011/ FOOTBALL: TARGET TOSS. Contestant must successfully throw a regulation football through a target. The ball must be thrown from a minimum distance of twenty-five (25) yards. A foot fault (plant foot touching or going over the demarcation line) will disqualify the attempt. A contestant will not be allowed to attempt another toss to replace the disqualified toss. The diameter of the target opening must measure no more than ten (10) inches. The target opening must have a netting material attached from behind in order to catch a successful attempt. The bottom of the target opening must measure a minimum of four (4) feet above the playing surface. The target structure must be constructed of a solid material (for example, plywood, Plexiglas, etc.) that will not collapse in any way when impacted by the football.

B. ELIGIBILITY
1. The following classes of people are ineligible to participate:

i. Current or former professional or semi-professional football, baseball or softball players or coaches.
ii. Current or former high school or collegiate football, rugby or soccer players or coaches who have played or coached at that level in the past five (5) years (includes freshmen, Junior Varsity, and Varsity for both men and women).

2. The Member must advise the selected participant of the eligibility requirements and of the rules associated with this contest prior to the attempt.

3. A Contestant for the spectator participation event must be randomly selected from those in attendance at the named event no more than 12 hours prior to the start of the event. The population of potential Contestants shall consist of at least 250 people.

C. VIDEO
1. All attempts must be recorded on video. The video must show the contestant’s feet and hands prior to contest attempt. The video must also show the entire flight of the ball until the ball rests in its final spot.

D. EQUIPMENT CONDITIONS
1. No part of the field, goal posts, or football used in the contest may be specifically constructed, prepared or altered in order to facilitate completion of a successful Contest attempt.

2. The field and all equipment must be of standard NFL, NCAA or State Association regulation size and specifications for the particular venue in which the Contest is being held. For contests not held at a league event or venue, the field and all equipment size and specifications shall be as defined in the most recent NCAA Rulebook.

3. The football used in the Contest attempt must be of standard NFL, NCAA or State Association regulation size and specifications for the particular venue in which the Contest is being held. For contests not held at a league event or venue, the football size and specifications shall be as defined in the most recent NCAA Rulebook (minimum length 10.875 inches; minimum circumference 20.75 inches; weight 14 to 15 ounces; inflation 12.5 to 13.5 psi).

4. The goal post used in the Contest attempt must be of standard NFL, NCAA or State Association regulation size and specifications for the particular venue in which the Contest is being held. For contests not held at a league event or venue, the goal post specifications shall be as defined in the most recent NCAA Rulebook (two uprights 18.5 feet apart extending at least 30 feet above the ground and connected by a horizontal crossbar 10 feet off the ground).

5. Nothing may be done to the football, target opening, or the playing surface that would enhance the contestant’s chances of successfully completing the contest.
